3 step guide to super moisturized skin

The weather is changing, leaves are falling, you're adding more layers to your wardrobe and if you're anything like me, your skin is super dry! Every year, the change in weather causes my skin to peel, flake and itch.  For a while this was a problem that no moisturizer could solve, until I changed a few habits and incorporated a simple 3 step regimen for healing my skin and getting rid of dry skin problems for good.

Check out my 3 step regimen that helped me heal my dry skin.

Step 1: Exfoliate

Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells, which is super important because without exfoliation, the skin can appear rough, dry and itchy as old cells pile up on the skin.  Also, nutritive moisturizers cannot penetrate the skin easily while dead skin cells build up on the skin. Lack of exfoliation can also lead to blemishes including acne and dark spots due to clogged pores as result of excess oil buildup.  You can exfoliate with a gentle face scrub or an all natural Face Mask. I prefer gentle exfoliating cleansers for quick exfoliation. I also love Face Masks as they deeply penetrate the surface layer of skin and gently remove dead skin cells and reveal fresh glowing skin.

 Step 2: Hydrate

You can't have moisture without water, right? The key to hydration is water.  Water penetrates and feeds the skin cells the moisture that it needs to prevent dryness.  You should hydrate your skin both externally (I use our Pink Rose Hydrating Face Mist  daily...and it smells like a bed of roses)  and externally by drinking alkaline water. Alkaline water is best for your skin because it maintains a balance in your body that helps prevent overgrowth of bacteria that causes skin eruptions and dry skin conditions. Your skin will thank you for the double dose of hydration!

Step 3: Seal in Moisture

Typical skincare routines require you to finish with a moisturizing cream.  Creams are often times loaded with filler ingredients like emulsifiers and don't contain as many active ingredients rich oils and vitamins that directly penetrate and heal the skin. I use oils on top of hydrating toners/face mists to lock in the moisture and feed the skin active ingredients that heal and soften my skin faster.  Using the right oils for your skin type, especially oils that do not clog pores like Argan oil and Rosehip seed oil, contain omega 3 fatty acids and skin healing vitamins will allow you to see a change in the way your skin looks and feels, quickly. Our Pink Rose softening serum is incredible for sealing in moisture, softening and healing the skin.

That's it.  The regimen is simple.  Just Exfoliate, Hydrate and Seal with an oil and watch your skin change.  What is your daily skin care regimen?

Thank you for this blog! I am going through this dry skin phase now and kept trying to moisturize it forgetting about the fact that I need to exfoliate and use the right oils for my skin type.
